The Horn Blows

The horn blew at 10:00pm February 22nd indicating the end of Multi Block. The carvers had to leave their sites immediately. If they reenter the site after the ending horn, the team may be disqualified. That means they had to begin the clean-up process ahead of time. Judging began at 10:15 and we have to wait until the awards ceremony that begins at 8:00pm tonight. Some of the questions asked by the judges are;             1. How creative is the subject matter? 2. How original is the idea, theme, or technique? 3. Has this been carved before? 4. Is this an exact duplicate of another artist’s work? 4. If the competition has a theme,  how well is it represented in the design? 5. How well does the sculpture flow? 6. Does the sculpture look life-like or static? 7. Was there an inherent amount of risk to the design? 8. Is the sculpture 2-D or 3-D? It can take the judges sometimes hours before they each submit their winning sculpture.
