Double Block Day Two

Ephemeral nature is the quality of something being short-lived, fleeting, or transitory. Ice sculpting is an example of something with ephemeral nature because it is fleeting in nature but shows off its natural beauty in the short time it is here.
And just like that, Double Block is half over. Tomorrow evening the horn will blow. I love Double Block. The artwork always seems more intricate and complex, more personal somehow. With 24 sculptures from which to choose you are bound to be impressed. Have you heard of a “floof”? You will see one in ice when you peruse all the mesmerizing double blocks being crafted this year.
One artist who has worked on double block for years is Ina Timling. Her sculptures are always scientific in nature and teach you something. She sculpted one that taught all about covid, and one that showed what DNA is. One year her entry showed the cycle of water and another year she presented the metamorphosis of a snowflake. Her creation this year is entitled Home.
Another double block artist is Heather Brice. She specializes in wonderfully crafted animals. Come by this year and see what she is working on.
The finished creations will be impressive. The talented artists working on them for 2025 promise art pieces that are exhilarating, inspirational and uplifting.
