A volunteer is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. One of the more well-known benefits of volunteering is the impact on the community.  Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to organizations in need.

Ice Alaska is part of the Fairbanks identity.

People travel from all over the United States and the world, to view the amazing Ice Art, before, during and after the competitions. Kids of all ages love the Ice Park, lovingly constructed by volunteers. I was talking to a mom of a 3 year old this morning. She was telling me how much her son loves the “Hole In One” golf game. Ice Alaska, however, would not be here for everyone to enjoy if it weren’t for its volunteers. Everyone who contributes to its success is a volunteer.  Volunteers are responsible for the daily operations of the park. We could not stay open without them. They run the ticket booth and the gift shop, and just as important are the “security” volunteers. They walk the park to make sure everyone is safe. Could you spare a few hours of your time between now and the end of March? You would be contributing to making sure Ice Alaska continues to flourish.

Shift times are as follows:

Ticket booth and Gift Shop 11:30am-2:30pm; 2:30pm-5:30pm; 5:30pm-8:30pm and 8:30-10:00pm.

Security hours are as follows: 11am-2pm; 2pm-5pm; 5-8pm and 8-10pm.
