There have been a lot of international winners this year, 2025, at the World Ice Championships. The Double Block award ceremony was tonight at 8:00pm and the first place went to a duo of Canadians as well as brothers. It is entitled Final Meditation and its talented sculptors are Ross Baisas and Antonio Baisas. Second place, Eternal Battle, belongs to Angelito Baban from Virginia and Victor Dagatan from Florida, each by way of the Philippines. Third place was awarded to a pair of amazing sculptors from Japan, Hiroaki Kimura and Miho Takami. Their enchanting piece is called Hippocampus. There were so many people in the Ice Park today who came to see these exquisite, delicate looking and breathtaking winners.
The Single Block Classic begins at 8:00am on February 27 and ends at 10:00pm on the 1st of March. One person vs one block of ice, working towards world “ice domination.” As the name implies, one carver, one block of ice-incredible to watch the single skill on display.
While you are at the park, check out a sled for free and challenge a friend to a speed race down one of the super slides. Then come to the snack bar and indulge in the hot chocolate with plenty of marshmallows.
