Two Days until…..

On Saturday, February 17, Ice Alaska will open its gates at noon for the 2024 season. Located at the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds, 1800 College Road, in Fairbanks, Ice Alaska is home of the World Ice Art Championships. The finest ice sculptors from around the world compete in this most prestigious of all ice carving competitions. This year’s competition dates are as follows:

Multi Block Competition February 17th-February 22nd: Awards night February 23rd 8pm

Double Block Competition February 25th-27th; Awards night February 28th 8pm

Collegiate Competition February 25th-27th Awards night February 28th 7:30pm

Single Block Competition March 1st-3rd Awards night March 4th 8pm

Snow (Family) Competition March 9th- 10th   Awards night March 10 7:30pm

Youth Classic March 11th-14th Awards night March 15th 7:30pm

Ticket prices are:

Adult-ages 18 and up $17.00

Senior-ages 65+ $12.00

Military $12.00

Child-ages 6+ $8.00

Age 5 and under $0.00

Season Pass $35.00

Punch Card (10)-1 punch per person $125.00

Group Sales-Minimum of 12 tickets $17.00

When you purchase a one-day ticket you can come and go as many times as you like on that day. During the competitions, it is fun to watch the artists at work, especially on the last day of their event. Once the sculptures have been judged, the teams add colored lights to their site. That is when their sculptures become crown jewels. Seeing the ice during the day is spectacular and seeing it again under the colored lights is magic.

The kids’ park is SO MUCH FUN! Slides, games and ice to climb on all make for a day of fun and pictures you’ll remember forever.
