We are pleased that BP has become our title sponsor for 2009 and the event is now titled the "BP World Ice Art Championships." BP has sponsored every year since 1990, so it is particularly special to have BP as our first "Title Sponsor" as we celebrate 2009 as the 20th anniversary of Ice Alaska. Thank you BP.

The 2009 Single Block Classic served as Ice Alaska's fifth qualifier for the Winter Olympic Art Festival. The top scoring US team was Greg Butauski and Jeff Petercsak at site 24 "Leafy Lunch." They will travel to Vancouver B.C. and represent the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympic Art Festival Ice Sculpting event.
