Ice Alaska Sculpting Instructor, Vladimir Zhikhartsev, teaches frequent classes to introduce aritists to sculpting with ice. Many of the artists are familiar with sculpting in other media such as wood or stone, so it's a matter of teaching the properties and tools of sculpting ice. Others have little experience with sculpting and find ice to be a wonderful introduction to the art. The finished pieces are small but impressive and many Ice Alaska "apprentices" go on to win medals in the next World Ice Art Championship competition.

Several one day classes are offered from December 1999 - February 2000. The location will either be at Ice Park or on 2nd and Lacey at the Ice Museum. Call (907) 451-8250 for details. See the schedule (upper left of this page)
Vladimir also teaches safety classes prior to the Fairbanks Open Competition
